Anxiety
Is It a Start to a Brand New Year?, or more of the Same?

When you say 2020 was a year of struggle, I don't think you'll get any arguments
from anyone. And, when we got closer to the end of the year, we probably all
took a deep sigh of relief just to make it to the end. The hope for 2021 was
that it would NOT be the same 'ol same 'ol. Yet, it seems this year is getting
off to a rocky start. So many people have become bitter, frustrated, even angry.
I totally understand all these feelings, I've felt them throughout 2020 too.
However, as a child of God we must not dwell in the sea of anguish or anger. Our
weapon is powerful against the forces of darkness -- PRAYER.
When we go to God in prayer with our concerns and worries, we can have
confidence that He hears and that He will answer. And, even if it looks gray
around us, we have a hope that the world does not know. We can stay still,
content and worry-free that our God will get us through and be right alongside
us. And, He alone has the power to change any situation and even the bad things,
He brings good from.
Isaiah 43:19 says,
"Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know
it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."
This is the SAME God today. You might wonder how can He allow all the turmoil in
our world? Friend, I don't have all the answers and I don't always understand
why God does what He does. However, I can say, He knows what He's doing. He has
a will and ending that you nor I don't see and that's why He's God and we're
not. He is able to see what we can't. He knows what the future holds and if we
just trust Him, whether than trying to figure Him out, we can remain in peace no
matter what the year brings.
Remember this:
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with
thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God,
which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through
Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV)
